Welcome
Welcome to my weblog.
My name is Bruce MacEwen, and I'm a lawyer and businessman who lives and works in Manhattan.
"Adam Smith, Esq." is intended to be a forum for thoughts, reflections, asides, and with luck the occasional insight into the finances and the economics of (primarily large) law firms. To paraphrase, consider it "an inquiry into the nature andd causes of the wealth of law firms." I hope to include discussions on:
- finance;
- IT
- marketing
- practice management, and
- most important, strategies for sane long-term growth.
The name, "Adam Smith," of course pays tribute to the founding father of capitalism, the Scottish philosopher and economist, most famously the Author of The Wealth of Nations [1776].
I sincerely hope you enjoy this blog, find it useful, and tell me when you do and when you don't.
